Marimekko Clay Stripe Liisan Apron Dress M

Charming Marimekko cotton "hand drawn" stripe dress in an earthy clay/taupe/cloudy gray palette with sweet ruffled pinafore details. This dress was originally designed in 1969 and was made through the mid-1970s, this one for the Design Research store in USA. It sports a crisp flare to there, with wide open armholes (great for layering!), pewter-tone buttons down the middle, handy patch pockets and a scooped neckline on both sides. There are bust darts to define the front, but this could also be worn backwards, or open as a vest/duster, easily! By Marimekko, Design Research store label, made in Finland, circa 1970s.
